Thyroid Gland

The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located at the front of the neck, just below the Adam’s apple. It produces hormones that regulate the body’s metabolism, energy levels, heart rate, and temperature. Proper thyroid function is essential for overall health, and imbalances can lead to conditions such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, goiter, or thyroid nodules.

Parathyroid Glands

The parathyroid glands are four small glands located behind the thyroid in the neck. They produce parathyroid hormone (PTH), which helps regulate calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood and bones. Proper calcium balance is essential for healthy bones, nerves, and muscles. Parathyroid surgery is generally required if there is overactivity of the parathyroid glands.

Adrenal Glands

The adrenal glands are two small, yellow triangular shaped glands located on top of each kidney. They produce hormones such as cortisol, adrenaline, and aldosterone, which help regulate metabolism, blood pressure, stress response, and other vital functions. Balanced adrenal function is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being.
